On the evening of Friday 21st of October 2022 the Management Board of Valentia Community Hospital made a presentation to the former matron Margaret Daly to mark her time working at the hospital. She joined the staff of the hospital in 1989 and took up the position of matron in 2007 and continued in that role until the end of last month. There was a large attendance of staff and former staff along with present and former members of the hospital board at the presentation which was an indication of the very high regard in which she was held by everyone.
